Overview

Un jueves a la hora de comer, la Tierra es demolida para poder construir una nueva autopista hiperespacial. Arthur Dent, un tipo que esa misma mañana ha visto cómo echaban abajo su propia casa, considera que eso supera lo que una persona puede soportar. Arthur huirá de la Tierra junto a un amigo suyo, Ford Prefect, que resultará ser un extraterrestre emparentado con Zaphod Beeblebrox, un pirata esquizoide de dos cabezas, en cuya nave conocerá al resto de personajes que lo acompañarán: un androide paranoide y una terrícola que, como él, ha logrado escapar.

Seconds before Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Together they begin a journey through space, aided by quotes from The Hitchhiker's Guide.

About the Author

Douglas Adams (1952-2001) was an English author, scriptwriter, essayist, humorist, satirist and dramatist. He is best known as the author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy—which yielded the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything¿42. Hitchhiker's Guide originated in 1978 as a BBC radio comedy before developing into a "trilogy" of five books. Adams also wrote Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, in addition to three stories for the TV show Doctor Who.
